Hemo Concepts to Launch Integrated Blood Conservation Programs

At Two American Red Cross Client Hospitals

(Eatontown, N.J. — December 20, 2006) — Hemo Concepts, Inc. today announced an agreement with American Red Cross Biomedical Services to initiate integrated blood conservation programs at two American Red Cross client hospitals with the intent to roll out integrated blood conservation programs at additional American Red Cross client hospitals.

“The American Red Cross recognizes its important social responsibility to provide a safe and available donor blood supply,” said Scott Buker, Director of National Accounts for American Red Cross Biomedical Services. “As more and more client hospitals see the benefits and request integrated blood conservation programs, Hemo Concepts has the potential of becoming an important partner in our ongoing efforts to manage this responsibility.”

Commenting on the agreement, Damon Keeley, Hemo Concepts’ Chairman and CEO said, “It’s very significant that the American Red Cross is assuming a leading role in the adoption of integrated blood conservation.”  “We have a substantial amount of experience and favorable results which indicate that our integrated blood conservation programs will be successful and greatly benefit the American Red Cross and its clients across the country.”

As Chief Medical Officer of American Red Cross Biomedical Services, Dr. Richard Benjamin plays a crucial role in assuring that America has a safe and adequate donor blood supply.  Speaking about the agreement with Hemo Concepts, Dr. Benjamin said, “The American Red Cross strongly supports efforts to foster the appropriate use of blood products and I look forward to partnering with Hemo Concepts to successfully promote this goal.”

Hemo Concepts’ Integrated Blood Conservation Program uses an evidence-based outcomes process, combining on-site training, on-line continuing medical education, and patient outcomes data analysis to promote appropriate donor blood utilization in hospitals.  With patents pending, the company’s e-BOS ® (Evidence-Based Outcomes System) System utilizes powerful web-based tools to shorten the educational process, allowing physicians and nurses to quickly reduce their reliance on donor blood transfusions in patient care.

Nationally renowned U.S. hospitals are reporting significant reductions in donor blood transfusions using Hemo Concepts’ Integrated Blood Conservation Programs.  Hemo Concepts is the leading provider of integrated blood conservation products and services.
